Swedish Apartment Boasts Exciting Mix of Old and New

In the harbor city of Linnestaden, Sweden, a turn of the century building with stunning interior and exterior architectural elements plays host to a renovated apartment home. The fully modernized apartment was thoughtfully designed in keeping with its history and remains filled with heirloom details such as tiled floors, mirrored doors, stucco, foot rails, ornate molding and ceiling rose. The apartment’s modern decor and furnishings meld beautifully with its historical detailing to create an open living space which is nostalgic, fresh and full of life. The floor plan features a row of rooms, one opening onto the next. White walls and ceilings act as a canvas for dramatic pops of black, modern art and strong pattern.

The open living/dining space features unfinished wood floors, white walls and ceiling and filled with modern black, white and gray furnishings. The dining table is an open design which allows light to flow through the space as do the transparent plastic chairs. The coffee table also is open formed.
